Assessing the Water Damage

Immediately following water damage to your premise, the contents and structure must be inspected to devise a plan for restoration. Identifying which of the three types of water are present will help establish the severity of a water loss and help prevent the possibility of health risks.

Clean Water: This describes water that most often has no contaminates or harmful impurities, usually from broken water lines, toilet and sink overflows and roof leaks.

Grey Water: Is all wastewater generated in households or office buildings from streams without fecal contamination. Greywater is gently used water from your bathroom sinks, showers, tubs, and washing machines. It is not water that has come into contact with feces, either from the toilet or from washing diapers. Greywater may contain traces of dirt, food, grease, hair, and certain household cleaning products.

The Drying Process
